We still have a little room in our Developmental Playgroup. Through structured play activities we will target your toddler’s motor, cognitive, social, self-care, and communication skills. Activities include singing, games, stories, creative play, sensory motor play and snack time (for self-feeding skills). This play group is suitable for both typically developing children and children with developmental delays. Identifying speech development delays and other language problem indicators, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of encouraging a child to learn more than one languages will be discussed. The Power of Play: Strengthening the Parent Child Relationship
Parenting young children can be an exhausting, overwhelming, and a sometimes, thankless task. Parents spend much of their time managing their children’s behavior. Make no mistake, this needs to be done in order to teach them about appropriate behavior, responsibility, and boundaries, but there needs to be more. Child-centered play provides parents with one means of showing their children unconditional love that is the glue that holds all good relationships together. Because play is the language of children, engaging in child-centered play with your own child will allow you to learn more about his/her inner life, strengthen your connection to him/her, and make deposits in your relationship's emotional bank account. This is a hands-on, experienced-based seminar that will teach you some strategies for supporting your child’s emotional wellbeing and positive behavior through play. Children are welcome.
