Jealous 2-year old
Question:
My two-year old son is jealous every time my husband tries to hold my hand or give me a kiss. What should we do? It seems to be getting worse
Answer:
This is a normal reaction. First of all toddlers like to be the center of attention and secondly sharing is for most of them not a strong suit at that age. He just wants to let both of you know that he prefers to have you to himself and that he doesn’t want to share you- with anyone. I guess because you spend most of the day with him it is in particular difficult to accept that once dad is there he is not the number one of attention anymore. This is probably just a phase but try not to give in too much. Rather explain to him that you love them both and make sure he feels that this doesn’t mean less love for him.
